Imperfection is, for me, evidence of existing in the world: time-worn walls, disarming snippets of conversation, the grit knitted in. Patterns broken can be made again. A hole or frayed edge lets the light through. Revisions, juxtapositions, and the marks we leave behind—stains, fingerprints, gestures, loose threads—form the texture of a life.                                                                                                                           —Kristin Kelly

KRISTIN KELLY is an artist and writer based in Massachusetts. Her work centers around arranging fragments and making messes—then finding ways to unmake them or find the calm within. In her visual work, she uses natural fibers, clay, paper, paint, ink, sand, and handmade textiles. She is the author of Cargo (Elixir Press), a collection of poems similarly interested in making connections through disparate pieces.
